This fall I took wedding cakes. Baking and decorating cakes is what rekindled my passion for baking so you can only imagine my excitement. This course stressed advanced cake decorating and sugar artistry. I learned highly skilled cake decorating techniques of fondant, icings, and gum paste, that brought my art to life—creating a sophisticated wedding cake for custom design.
The second half of the course explored the use of sugar as a decorative medium. These techniques brought together a final colorful and imaginative showpiece to demonstrate my applied proficiency. I am so glad to learn so much in a short time, the skills that will last a lifetime.
