The fall quarter of 2019 is my last quarter of being a college student, and it has been a great quarter for me to reflect on knowledge gained from Kendall. For this quarter I was able to put all of my hard work and taught knowledge into practice. I am completing my internship at The Langham Hotel, Chicago, and it has been a wonderful experience.
It is easy to think in your mind about all the things that you learn. However, when you put them into practice, that’s when you truly know that it is a part of you, at least that is how I feel. I am finally able to do what I am passionate about, and start working on creating a working career for myself within food and beverage management.
Throughout my time at The Langham Chicago, I was able to rotate between various Food and Beverage positions. I worked as a hostess, high tea server, room service server and also a room service coordinator. I have been introduced to work that I didn’t even know had to be done this quarter and I have gained valuable experience for my career. The reason as to why I was able to do all of these various positions and even obtain a job at the best hotel in Chicago is because of Kendall and what they have taught me. For that, I am grateful.
