Former States Attorney and active philanthropist
Penny Brown serves as a Trustee for Santa Fe University of Art and Design, where she is Chair of the Community Engagement Committee, and on the Advisory Board of the Chicago-Kent College of Law. She is also a Board member of the Grant Park Music Festival, where she sits on the marketing and development committees, and a member of the Regional Council of the New Israel Fund. Plus, she consults for and is a member of the Women’s Network Committee of Metropolitan Capital Bank, and is a Board and Executive Committee member of Inspiration Corporation, dedicated to helping those affected by homelessness and poverty.
Penny is the former Director of Tourism Initiatives, Office of Tourism, for Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs. She practiced law for more than 25 years as a States Attorney and as a litigator and partner at Much, Shelist law firm. She was a member of the Inquiry Board of the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, an adjunct professor at the Western Michigan University, and an arbitrator for the Cook County Mandatory Arbitration Program. She was named an Illinois SuperLawyer and was a founding Advisory Board Member of Chicago Art Expo.
